Apples are an everyday staple in our house and we are always looking to try out new and different varieties to keep snack time fun and fresh. Our favorite apple has always been the honeycrisp variety so we were super excited when we heard about new Lucy™ Apples. These super unique apples are a cross between the classic honeycrisp apple and an older European variety, Arlie Red, making them a new delicious favorite!

Lucy™ Apples come in two different varieties both with a vibrant red flesh, the Lucy Rose Apple and the Lucy Glo Apple. These make snack time so much fun for my kids as they are amazed by the red color on the inside. The red color also makes them stand out as an ingredient in salads, on a charcuterie board, or in fruit based desserts. The flavor of these apples also makes them stand out. Both the Lucy Rose and Lucy Glo apples have the perfect crisp texture and a balanced sweet taste. The Lucy Rose Apple has a bright red outer skin with a juicy, sweet flavor that has hints of berry. The Lucy Glo has a yellow/pink outer skin and has a sweetness that is balanced out with a hint of tangy/tartness. Both apples have a fresh taste and the quality is perfect.

Lucy™ Apples are grown in Central Washington by a small group of fourth and fifth generation growers passionate about producing high-quality red flesh apples. They typically retail for $4.99/pound and can be purchased at Sprouts Farmers Market or online at Find a store near you here!

Apple Nachos are one of our favorite snacks that we can customize with any toppings we want. They are super quick and easy to make and a healthy option for after school or even dessert.

Apple Nachos

1 Lucy™ Apple, sliced thin
2 tbsp almond butter
2 tbsp raisins
2 tbsp shredded coconut

Arrange sliced apples on a plate. Warm almond butter for about 30 seconds and then drizzle over apples. Sprinkle raisins and coconut evenly over apples. Enjoy!
