When each new year approaches, my three girls and I love to reflect on all of our favorite memories from the past year. This year we wanted to save all of these memories in a fun and tangible way that we could always look back on, so we created a scrapbook! My little ones loved being able to add their own unique souvenirs or special pictures to the pages and I enjoyed watching their creativity in action as they designed each page just how they wanted. Scrapbooks also make the perfect indoor craft for kids to take part in during the cold winter months.

Because it is the holiday season, we kept our scrapbook project on a budget and purchased supplies where we could find the best prices. We were able to purchase the scrapbook itself for an excellent price which just left the accessories. My girls chose colorful paper in bulk packs that were perfect for making each page pop. They also enjoyed picking out $1 sticker sheets and lettering as well as glitter tapes (just over $2 each) to match their theme. Scotch® Expressions is our favorite glitter tape because it is the perfect blend of function and fun and inspires creativity. It was super fun for my girls to use this tape to create pages they were proud of. Be hands-on with Scotch™ Brand and find Scotch® Expressions tape (available in several colors and patterns) in Walmart’s craft paper aisle along with a variety of other affordable products for scrapbooking! We opted for Scotch® Expressions Glitter Tape Gold and Platinum because my girls loved how the tapes shimmered and were excited for the effect they would add to their pages. Listed below is our full tutorial on how to create your own budget friendly scrapbook for kids.

Directions
Gather Supplies: After your child chooses their overall scrapbook theme, have him/her pick a few of their favorite memories from over the past year. For my kids it was a special trip we took to a nearby amusement park and the Fall holidays. With Christmas approaching, photos with Santa, Christmas tree decorating, or special shows at school would make the perfect holiday themed memory pages on red and green patterned paper with gold and silver accents.
Organize: Select paper, stickers and tape that matches the theme you want for each page. Organize all photos and souvenirs/keepsakes so they fit and have a fun design. Scotch® Expressions Glitter Tape in Gold and Platinum are a must have item for holiday themed pages to give extra sparkle but are also perfect for any themed pages to help photos and keepsakes stand out.
Decorate: This is where you can let your kids creativity flow! Have them design eye-catching photo borders with Scotch® Expressions Tapes and add text with sticker lettering. Adhere photos and keepsakes with glue. Place stickers all over for an even more fun effect!
Assemble: Place all of the completed pages within the scrapbook and enjoy a special way to look back on the story of your year! This is a great way (or even a new tradition!) for families to spend time together over the holidays and bring in the start of the new year!

I love the idea of starting scrapbooking with your kids at such a young age. Hopefully, it is something they will enjoy and keep up with as they grow older!
I love the beautiful scrapbooks–and it’s a hobby everyone can do to suit their own tastes!
