Baby Baby/New Mom Household Pregnancy

Avishi Organics Review and Giveaway

October 27, 2014

As a mom to three little girls I have learned stretch marks and diaper rash are two of the more unpleasant things that come along with having a baby. I remember after having my first daughter feeling so overwhelmed at all of the product solutions for these problems and even more shocked by their ingredients. I couldn’t imagine putting something packed with toxic chemicals on my newborn baby, let alone myself. Now after having my third daughter I feel a little more seasoned when it comes to deciphering ingredient names and finding the right products for myself and my children. For this reason I was super excited to try Avishi Organics’ products. Avishi Organics is a line of USDA certified organic skincare products specially formulated with pure plant-based ingredients for moms and babies. With Avishi Organics’ products you truly are getting a 100% organic product not just a product claiming to be natural (as many conventional baby products claim but in reality are far from it). Avishi Organics products are designed for sensitive skin and are perfect for expecting or nursing mothers and babies. Below are further benefits in choosing Avishi Organics:

100% Pure
Products are free of synthetic fragrances, parabens, ureas, petrochemicals, sulfates, mineral oil, DEA/MEA/TEA, synthetic colors and other harmful additives.

Concentrated Formulations
Products are intensely concentrated to deliver the maximum benefit. They are not watered down by cheap fillers such as mineral oil, a standard practice by mainstream skincare companies to achieve lower-price points.

Reviving Traditional Wisdom
Products use ingredients that were utilized by many ancient cultures for their strong healing properties and are gentle and therapeutic for both mom and baby.

Ingredients That Work
Avishi Organics’ formulations are produced using pure, bio-active ingredients that have not only withstood the test of time for their effectiveness, but have also been corroborated through contemporary research. Formulations are:
*Highly concentrated with essential fatty acids
*Rich in vitamins, tocopherols and other antioxidants
*Nourishing, healing, anti-inflammatory and skin-cell regenerating
*Made from pure botanical extracts and oils

I was able to try Avishi Organics Intensive Stretch Mark Oil and Intensive Baby Balm and was very impressed by both products.

Avishi Organics Intensive Stretch Mark Oil

Avishi Organics Intensive Stretch Mark Oil is formulated with 100% organic plant-based ingredients that are to be effective in activating skin renewal and helping minimize the appearance of existing stretch marks and scars, as well as reducing the possibility of new marks forming during pregnancy (*individual results vary). The oil is also perfect for the itchy belly that moms often get in the last trimester of pregnancy. I love how light the oil is and how easily it applies to the skin. It left my skin feeling soft and smooth and I anticipate to see if it helps in reducing my stretch marks after daily use over the next couple of months. Listed below are just a few of the highly effective natural ingredients used in this product:

*Rosehip Seed Oil and Helichrysum Italicum Essential Oil help improve skin elasticity, regenerate skin cells and reduce scarring.

*Borage seed oil, one of the richest known sources of Gamma Linolenic Acid (an essential fatty acid) restores moisture and smoothness, and helps accelerate the healing process.

*Macadamia Nut Oil, a rich source of palmitoleic acid, is a strong anti-oxidant and protects the skin just like human sebum does, also allowing it to deeply-penetrate and hydrate skin.

Avishi Organics Intensive Baby Balm

Avishi Organics Intensive Baby Balm is USDA certified organic balm that soothes, restores and deeply nourishes severely dry, irritated, rashy and eczema-prone skin. It is also hypoallergenic and non-irritating. Unfortunately, my newborn baby seems very prone to diaper rash so I have been using this balm at every diaper change and it has been incredibly effective in eliminating her diaper rash. I love how it rubs smoothly into her skin and is not thick and messy like some other diaper creams. It also has a very nice scent from all of it’s natural ingredients. I love that it comes in a balm stick which is practical for on-the-go and great for eliminating waste as the bottom of the bottle can be twisted/pushed up. Some of the ingredients found in the Intensive Baby Balm are the following:

*Coconut oil contains some of the largest amounts of lauric acid, giving it antiviral and antibacterial qualities, and has high-levels of antioxidants. It is advocated by many herbalists for soothing eczema, dermatitis, allergic skin reactions and inflamed skin.

*Neem Oil is highly prized in Ayurveda for treating a number of skin afflictions. In fact, Indians typically refer to neem as the “village pharmacy” for its antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral properties.

*Plantain has been used for centuries as a cure-all for skin afflictions, and is great for soothing itchy skin. It contains Allantoin, an anti-inflammatory phytochemical that speeds healing.

I would like to try the Intensive Stretch Mark Oil. My daughter was a healthy 8 pounds 12 ounces but being a 5’3 and 113 pound girl to begin with obviously I gained a significant amount of stretch marks. Its been a year and they have faded… minimally. Bio oil works for some but not me. I’ve been trying to go organic with what I use now. :)
