I tend to prepare mostly homemade baby food for my daughter but there are some days where I need ready to serve meals to give her if I am running short on time, need a meal on the go, or just want something easy. When shopping for baby food there are several options and it’s important to make the right choice for your little one. Most importantly, the food should be USDA organic so you can be assured it has only organic, non GE (genetically engineered) ingredients. You also want to be sure that to choose mixes that are proper for your little one’s age/stage. Additionally, the packaging should be free of harmful chemicals. A great brand that I have found out about recently is Happy Baby Food. They meet all of the above qualifications as their foods are USDA organic, contained in BPA and phthalate free packaging, and have a full range of options for your growing child. They offer nutritious finger foods, cereals, pouches, and much more! A little information about Happy Family– the company was founded in 2003 by an eco and health conscious mom who wanted more convenient and wholesome baby food options. The company is very straightforward regarding their mission and promises which include providing the healthiest, most optimal nutrition possible while using safe and high quality ingredients in their food. Packaging is considered just as much as the food going into it as they use the safest options available while making informed decisions and any necessary improvements to reduce their carbon footprint. What’s even better is that Happy Baby works with Project Peanut Butter to help feed starving children in Malawi and Sierra Leone and with every package purchased a contribution is made to this effort. There are so many awesome products that Happy Baby offers but my review will focus on the Happy Baby Pouches, Happy Puffs, and Happy Yogis.
Happy Baby Pouches
Happy Baby offers four stages of baby food making it simple and easy for you to find the right pouch for your little one’s age/development. The stages are: (1) starting solids, (2) simple combos, (3) homestyle meals, and (4) organic superfoods for tots. You can rest assured your baby is getting all necessary nutrients from her food as their specific pouch allows the ingredients to be cooked at a lower temperature than comparable jarred baby food. Additionally, they use ingredients that are uncommon to other baby food such as quinoa, amaranth, mangosteen and yumberry. Their baby pouches are sized at 4 oz which I love because I usually have enough for two nights of dinner for my little one. My little girl loves all the varieties of their pouches and it seems like I can’t feed it to her fast enough! The textures are perfect based on your child’s age. My little one is currently at stage three and I do not need to add anything to thin/thicken it. The grains, vegetables, and meats incorporated in these meals are flavorful, delicious, and healthy for your baby and they are one of the only brands I use and trust for my little girl!
Happy Puffs are my favorite low mess snack to offer my little girl. They are comparable to Cheerio’s cereal in their size and shape and are a great organic finger food. Puffs can be a starter finger food for baby as they are quick to dissolve and easy for little fingers to pick up. They also will keep your little one entertained for a while as she learns important hand eye coordination skills. One of the first things I noticed about the Happy Puffs in comparison with other brand puffs was their flavors. They offer so many unique flavors that help introduce baby to certain tastes right from the start. My baby’s favorite are the Green Puffs which contain kale and spinach. Some of the other flavors are sweet potato, banana, apple, and strawberry. Whats even better is that they are gluten, soy, corn, and dairy free! They are also in a large 2.1 oz container which is 40% larger than competitor brands!
Happy Yogis are one of the only organic baby yogurt snacks of their kind and are a yummy gluten-free treat for baby. They are a low-sugar fruit and yogurt snack that also offer high nutritional value with protein, calcium, vitamin D,
and prebiotics/probiotics for digestive wellness. There are three flavors of Happy Yogis to choose from: strawberry, banana mango, and mixed berry (blueberry, blackberry and strawberry). These again are a great introductory finger food for baby. They are round and slightly bigger than the puffs but still very easy for little fingers to grab and melt quickly. My daughter loves the strawberry Yogis and is always reaching for more!
Happy Baby Food would love for your little one to be able to try out their delicious baby foods too! That’s why they’re giving one lucky reader FREE coupons for (1) Happy Bellies, (1) Happy Puffs, (1) Happy Yogis, and (2) Happy Baby Pouches (Stages 1, 2, 3 & Tot) (Approx. value- $15)!
