My daughters love to have themed family movie nights and with the new year here, it’s the perfect time to start our tradition back up. Each week one of my three daughters will choose a movie and then plan the dinner, decor, and activities that relate to the movie’s theme. With the cold days of winter here in the Northeast, movie nights bring excitement and fun back to our weekends as my girls plan out a special night. Another thing that helped jump start our movie nights was the the release of Goosebumps 2!

Goosebumps 2 is now available on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Combo Pack at Walmart and the action packed family friendly movie (rated PG) does not disappoint. Because we love Halloween, this movie took us back to one of our favorite holidays in an unforgettable adventure. Growing up reading Goosebumps books, I loved being able to share the nostalgia of the R.L. Stein book series with my daughters while watching. The movie is exciting, funny, and spooky, alongside great main characters and uncanny (kid-friendly) monsters. By far the most memorable scene in the movie was the much anticipated gummy bear scene. The visuals in this must-see scene and the characters reactions, are super convincing that the gummy bears actually came to life. The cast includes family favorites like Jack Black, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Chris Parnell, Ken Jeong, Madison Iseman, Jeremy Ray Taylor and Caleel Harris. My girls also enjoyed the bonus features which included a hilarious gag reel full of hijinks, three all-new deleted scenes and five featurettes.

To make our movie night extra spooky and fun we made special treats to fit with the storyline of Goosebumps 2.

Creepy Crawly Pizza

Goosebumps 2 is full of creepy crawly monsters so our pizza naturally had to be full of them too in spider form. We simply made our favorite homemade pizza recipe and added pepperoni along with sliced black olives cut in half as spider legs. This was a tasty and easy way to add a little extra fright to our night in.

Movie Tickets

My girls like to make our movie nights similar to the movie theatre environment. A couple ways we do this is through DIY admissions tickets to the movie as well as adding flashlights on the floor, to appear like accent theatre lighting.

Popcorn Bar

You can’t forget popcorn for a movie night so we took it up a level with a tasty popcorn bar! I purchased movie theatre popcorn bags along with green and yellow chocolate candies, sprinkles, eyeballs, and gummy bears (of course!) for the perfect popcorn bar. My girls loved loading up their popcorn bags with delicious mix-ins to munch on throughout the movie.

Head over to your local Walmart now to purchase Goosebumps 2 for your next family movie night!
