Finding plant-based cookbooks with recipes the entire family will enjoy can be difficult. However, I have found a few that have become staples in my kitchen and both my vegan/non-vegan family and friends love the delicious recipes! Below are my top 5 favorite vegan cookbooks!
Oh She Glows Cookbook
This is by far my favorite cookbook! It is packed with healthy plant-based recipes made from delicious whole food ingredients. I have tried almost every recipe in this book with many of them now in my weekly meal plan. Each recipe has been enjoyed by my family/friends and includes ingredients that are pantry staples or easily found in the grocery store. Another huge benefit of this book is that many of the recipes are gluten-free and soy-free. From fresh salads to savory casseroles and chocolatey brownies (the best I have had to date!) this book is definitely a must have in any kitchen! Available for purchase here.
Isa Does It
This cookbook is another favorite of mine because it is packed with easy to prepare recipes that everyone in the family loves. All the recipes have delicious flavors and are both satisfying and savory. My favorites include Dilly Stew with Rosemary Dumplings and Sweet Potato Gnocchi with Seared Brussel Spouts and Tarragon Cream. The book also includes many variations to non-vegan classics like “Lentil-A-Roni”. Available for purchase here.
Plant-Powered Families is a new favorite of mine. This book has over 100 kid-friendly recipes that are perfect for breakfasts, school lunches, weeknight meals, after-school snacks and more! Each recipe is made with healthy ingredients and is super easy to make so kids can help with preparation. It has bright pictures to go along with the recipes so you can visualize the end result. At Home in the Whole Food Kitchen
This cookbook is a wonderful addition for any kitchen! With unique and delicious recipes prepared from whole foods like Shaved Zucchini Salad with Pine Nut Lemon Dressing to Pistachio Golden Raisin Cookies with Cardamom (my favorite cookie!), this cookbook is full of impressive and delectable recipes! It has beautiful photos throughout and great info on stocking your pantry with the perfect essentials. Although not every recipe is vegan (some have cheese or eggs) they can easily be adapted with plant-based ingredients. Available for purchase here.
