Did you know October is Fair Trade Month? Whenever I shop for friends and family, this is one of the main things things I take into consideration before making a purchase. Why is buying fair trade products important? Because it ensures that the people who worked hard to create the quality products you are purchasing are receiving a reasonable and fair wage. Although this is just a small portion of what happens when you choose to buy a fair trade product. Purchasing fair trade products also helps in improving and empowering the lives of farmers and factory workers in other countries as they will have safe working conditions and an extra income to provide for their families and help fight poverty in their communities. It also supports sustainable environmental practices and creates long term partnerships with reputable companies.

Common fair trade products are coffee, teas, herbs, spices, cocoa, and cotton. However there are several additional handcrafted products that are also fair trade including jewelry, kitchenware, personal care products and many more. The Greenheart Shop is a great place to turn to when seeking a wide variety of unique and beautiful fair trade products. The shop takes a stand against wasteful and mass manufactured products by providing shoppers with a huge variety of quality made everyday and gift items from communities around the world.
