When your little one reaches the age where an exersaucer is appropriate for playtime, parents looking to avoid plastics may find this to be a challenge. Almost all of the exersaucers currently available are completely constructed of plastic and may be lurking with harmful chemicals. While wooden exersaucers are not widely available as of now, there are still some options to keep baby entertained, stimulated, and happy.

Bobbin Triple Play Center

The Bobbin Triple Play Center is the closest thing to a traditional exersaucer that I have found. It is made with only Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified timber and all finishes have been certified by the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute. The Bobbin conforms to US ASTM F2012 Standards for Stationary Activity Centers and meets or exceeds the safety standards of the Canadian Consumer Product Safety Act. This smart design changes from a baby play center to a toddler activity table to a kid’s table. The Bobbin comes with a chalkboard insert for the activity table stage. Disassembles easily and stows neatly away until next time. It also has 360 degree rotation that gives full access to toys while encouraging movement and interaction with surroundings. 5 adjustable height settings ensure an ideal fit as your baby grows.

Galt Toys Playnest

Keep your little one engaged, cozy and snug in the Galt Toys Playnest Farm. It is the perfect place for younger babies to lay and play, explore and view the surrounding world. Older babies will love sitting and playing with all of the exciting activities while contained and supported in the safe playnest. This comfy baby’s nest is an inflatable ring covered in fabric and with a padded center. Little ones are surrounded by eight activities and adorable farm characters: a duck that squeaks, a shiny wheel, a cow with a velour face, cabbages with a peek-a-boo rabbit, a bug with a crinkle nose, a horsie with a cord tail, a sheep with furry wool and kittens in a peek-a-boo door. For added convenience, the playnest cover and soft toys are machine washable. The Galt Toys Playnest Farm will provide hours of fun and is for ages newborn and up.

I wonder if a wooden high hair with the legs cut down would do the trick?
